Blurred tales

Happy August! Honestly, I can't believe the last month of summer 2013 has already arrived! But at the same time August's sudden entry means my second vacation will be here in just about 3 (hopefully quick but effective) weeks, yay! But enough of that. Today's post is more than blurred, it's about a rather old outfit, a blossoming cactus, blazing summer weekends, some thrifted, non-thrifted and DIY clothes... and another, more recent outfit. So, let's better get started!

In the first place you can see my simple outfit from July 14, conjointly something I wear pretty much every day to work, i.e. a simple duet of a dress and a comfy pair of pumps or flats. When it comes to the photos that cute furry lady next to me is my grandparents' St. Bernard Laura, by the way. She is one of the sweetest, warm-heartedest doggies I've ever met, and a poseur too, apparently. Oh and that concrete H&M dress (€29.95 10) came from Finland together with my parents and the light pink H&M sweater with a bright pink splash on it (€14.95 7; no. 1 in my "new in" collage below).

H&M dress | Emporio Armani sunnies | KayleighJean bracelets | Miss Sixty pumps.

The other items from my collage are following: no. 2 - thrifted floral velvety skirt for autumn (€0); no. 3 - thrifted Cheap Monday tank top (€1); no. 4 - thrifted Fancy Girls maxi skirt with exchanged buttons (€0); no. 5 - DIY maxi skirt made from a thrifted fabric (€0). And when it comes to item no. 4 you will see me wearing it for the first time already in my next post (check out the sneak peek photo of that outfit below my "new in" collage!) so be on your guard ;)

Anyhow, the rest of my various photos were taken at our home on July 26 and 28. One of my three cactuses blossomed and that's always a pretty sight worth capturing. And last weekend I made a quick and yummy pizza with Gouda cheese, cheese sausage, tomato, onion and basil. As you can see Elvis was also keeping his sharp eye on the pizza and beer. So I hope you liked this prompt post because I really wanted to share those slightly nostalgic photographs from bygone July. By the way, what are your plans for the last month of summer? Take care and let me know your thoughts :)

  1. Oh wow Laura is pretty. How do Elvis and she come along.
I love the cheetah dress and the Cheap Monday top you got is really cool!
Yup it's awesome when cactuses bloom and we cannot keep cacs since DJ has a special attraction to them. No idea why, perhaps they have a special smell. Even little ones he throws down, no matter what effort it will take him, he must go and get them.

    Did Elvis get any pizza?

    1. Elvis and Laura... well, Elvis is definitely not a fan of big dogs since he's so tiny but he does tolerate Laura because she's a peaceful old lady. on the other hand Elvis absolutely hates my grandparents' German shepherd Astra who is way too restless and annoying for his taste.
by the way, I really miss stories and videos about your cutiepie DJ! oh and Elvis didn't get any pizza since it ran out too quickly :P

  6. Hi dear, you look great! The dress is beautiful more importantly those colourful shoes are my favourite! I agree, and feel that the summer has gone by so swiftly, but I must admit I am ready for autumn - or at least my wardrobe is ready. haha. What a fantastic dog, I love the first photo so much! Wishing you a bright and lovely new week. xx/Madison

As for this post, you always look stunning! Love that leopard print dress. I've also discovered my love for H&M and I found a leopard print skater dress there for only $5! It looks like some of your cute items rival that bargain though haha. What steals! Love that pink top.

My plans include finishing summer homework (boring, I know) and writing college essays haha. But I enjoy writing so it's not too bad! Hope the rest of your summer goes well!

Thank you for being such a lovely blogger friend--your last comment really made me smile.

  27. Wooow, that summer went by fast! (A little too fast!) You must be really excited about your vacation coming up though, that's nice to have something to really look forward to at the end of summer and not just dreading the return of winter and snow. (Heh, it seems like that awful stuff just left.) You look like your really enjoying that beautiful sunshine, I love your printed dress with the turquoise heels, it's so lovely looking. That big doggie is pretty handsome as well, we use to have a Saint Benerad that live right down the road from us and he was such a sweetheart. You found some really amazing things at the thrift store, that sheer black top looks so fancy and sassy!
