Vacation finale in northeastern Estonia, day 3

October is already ruthlessly rolling and I'm ready to share the final batch of our vacation photos taken in northeastern Estonia. In a nostalgic summer village called Kauksi, to be more precise. And nostalgic because when I was a little girl I practically lived there during our hot Estonian summers. Today the scars on my knees and the distant corners of my memory remind me of those childhood summers. I remember there were those extremely slippery and sandy flagstones that took you to the beach and well, of course I slipped and fell pretty much every time I used that devilish flagstone path. And this is the simple story behind my numerous but proud knee scars. I guess I have been quite fantastic in falling and stumbling through all my conscious life actually :)

Anyway, this time we were just passing by on our way from Saka to Tartu and since it was a beautiful sunny September day we decided to take a small walk there. So, we came across this teeny joyful booth that looked just perfect behind my colourful outfit. By the way, I found those sandals with neon yellow accents on the first day of our spa vacation and they cost me ridiculous 29.99 6 euros. I love it how they match my Cubus necklace but on the other hand it's a little sad I probably can't wear them before next summer or spring... However, we also ran into those Great Spotted Woodpeckers who seemed to be everywhere around us (in 2011 I got some pretty amazing close-ups of the same species, peek here to see those!).

Emporio Armani sunnies | Cubus necklace | Cubus sweater | thrifted Resort dress | Simple & Chic sandals.

But despite all the caressing early-autumn sunshine, mellow woodpeckers and beautifully iridescent Lake Peipus I still missed our sweet little Elvis. He was staying with E.'s family in Tartu while we were getting pampered and I was so happy to see him again (such a wuss, I know, haha). Anyway, I hope you enjoy those warm and sunny photographs in the middle of this gloomy and rainy autumn day evening. Happy October, guys!

ps1. The Vampire Diaries is on again and S05E01 already was insane! Are you as excited as I am?

ps2. I assorted and adjusted my dresses and coats today and discovered something in the process...
My arms have grown longer since the beginning of this year and I had to abandon majority of my best coats. And no, the sleeves didn't shrink as a result of washing so damn you, my traitorous arms! And besides, how does something like that even happen? How?? :D

  1. That's so weird that your arms randomly grew longer! Never heard of that before lol. Great find on the sandals! They worked perfectly into your outfit :)

  2. Your sandals are so unique! What a great look! I hope they last a little while longer! I enjoyed your bird and dog photos, as well. And your arms...! Wow! I didn't know that could happen! Bodies can be so strange!

    1. Jettyga on mul nii häid kui ka halbu kogemusi seljataga. halbu õnneks vaid üks. nimelt soetasin sealt kunagi päris pikki aastaid tagasi ühed Hispanitase nahksaapad, mis maksid omal ajal tuhandeid kroone, aga konkreetselt lagunesid jalas ära (värv tuhmus, nahk hakkas kooruma jne). tol ajal oli meil kodus ka "kääbus"küülik, kes lõpuks saabastele üks-null ära tegi neid "hellalt" hammastega töödeldes. aga näiteks Detoxi biker boots'id (samuti nahast), mis eelmisel aastal sealt odavalt ostsin, peavad väga hästi vastu.

kui nüüd suvekingadest rääkida, siis ma ei kanna üldjuhul mitte ühtegi paari korraga nii palju, et sel tekiks võimalus ära laguneda. igasugused taolised odavad kingad peavad mul tegelikult vastu enam-vähem lõpmatuseni. tavaliselt ühel hetkel lihtsalt lisan need annetamisele minevate asjade hulka, sest tahan ise midagi uut. ja pikkade maade kõndimiseks on mul välja kujunenud väga kindlad (eriti pehmed, üldjuhul seemisnahast) kingapaarid. nii-et jah, need vahemaad, mis ma taoliste kingadega läbin, ei ole just märkimisväärsed :)

    2. See on ainult hea, eks suvekingadega kipubki nii olema :) Kui ma seal töötasin, siis nägin seda kvaliteeti kohe lähedamalt ja lõpuks oli mul väga piinlik müüa selliseid jalatseid .. ise ostsin ka muidugi sellest kaupluseketist palju kingi ja nüüdseks on mul eranditult KÕIK paarid katki.. lisaks muidugi juhtkonna käitumine jne mistõttu ma nüüd suht ei soovita kellelegi sealt osta midagi :D Aga eks muidugi vahel joppab hästi ja leiab paari, mis peab kaua vastu, never know :)

    3. jah, eks lõpuks olenebki väga palju juba ainuüksi puhtast juhusest. no ja muidugi ikka kandmise intensiivsusest ka. mina lihtsalt pole üks nendest, kes jalanõusid nii-öelda ribadeks kannab (või noh, selliseid aia-, metsa- ja muude tööde jalatseid kulub mul muidugi rohkem, sest füüsilist tööd tehes ei mõtle väga jalanõude heaolule :D).

  4. Hmm, I don't think it's physically possible for arms to grow :D Maybe if you worked out lifting heavy weight, they stretched?
Awesome neon sandals, and for a great price!
I have so many scars on my knees, you'd think that I dragged my legs around the pavement my whole life :D
    Happy October to you too!

    1. nope, haven't lifted anything that heavy but I wonder if some (arms related) exercises for abs can have such effect on my arms? I'm so very confused! :D and of course something like that had to happen to me when I actually needed those coats!

when it comes to scars.. welcome to the club! I even have scars on my fingers. go figure :)

  11. Mingil veidral põhjusel jäin su jalapilti siin vahtima (veidral seepärast, et tavaliselt lähen ma igast paljaste varvaste piltidest võimalikult ruttu üle, minu kiiks) ja vaatasin, et kas sul on seal jala peal sünnimärk? Sellisel juhul täitsa vahva - mul on ka TÄPSELT sama koha peal sünnimäk, ainult nõks suurem :)

    ReplyDelete

    1. ma kontrollisin igaks juhuks, ja on tõesti üks sünnimärgipoiss seal (reaalselt isegi tiba kogukam kui pildil ;). kusjuures, mul leidub neid tegelasi isegi varvastel, sõrmedel, juuste all... no enam-vähem igal pool tegelikult :D

  13. Your arms have grown longer? That does seem odd but then again our bodies do continue to change over time and when I pull out some of my best pieces from a few years ago, although they still fit, they rarely seem to fit in the same way I remember - so you're not alone in that. It's a shame about your coats, though :( Still it looks like your Estonian holiday ended on such a wonderful note. What a beautiful place, I hope I can visit one day!

  15. I loved reading this post, it was so sweet to hear about your nostalgic memories there! (And yes to knee scars, I have my fair share of those from summers off as well!) It is such a beautiful village, the coastline there is stunning, it must have been so special to get to spend your summers as a child in such a beautiful place. (I love the first picture with the sunlight gleaming off the water, its very magical looking.) And the pictures are so lovely, you and your hubby are such a sweet pair, you two look adorable and so happy together!

  22. Well this is really weird I've never heard something like that :/ Maybe the coats did shrink after you washed them?
Anyway your pictures are beautiful and such a pleasure to look at, as usual!
I don't know why but I love this picture of you and E. you two seem to compliment each other very well and don't ask me how I can know that just by seeing a picture, I just feel it lol.
What? No pictures of food in this post? Thanks God haha :)
Hope you're having a nice week!
And thank you for making us envious and desiring to go on vacations :P

    1. nope, I'm sure they didn't shrink because I wore some of them only a couple of times which means they didn't need any washing. so no shrinking, that's for sure :P
