An outfit, two hauls and a spring manicure

Hello! I don't know where Monday and Tuesday so suddenly disappeared but imperceptibly it's Wednesday... wait, Thursday (!) again, fierce Estonian winter is still in full swing and I have a lot to tell you about. So I better get this party started immediately and begin with a rather refined and sophisticated outfit deriving from January 3. Black, red and white form one of my all-time favourite colour combinations and as a lovely bonus all the clothes I'm wearing here are thrifted. Plus I added something golden from Born Pretty since my sympathy for golden jewellery unexpectedly rose from the ashes last year. But what about you? What is your all-time favourite colour combination when it comes to clothes?

thrifted Reflex faux fur coat | earrings (link) and necklace c/o Born Pretty (link) | thrifted Martinelli blouse | thrifted CNC convince cardigan | thrifted H&M skirt | Sempre boots.

Secondly I promised to share entirely two different hauls from the week before last with you: one from that (link) trip to Tartu and the other from a fabulous free thrifting day. So, my urgently needed necessities, bits and pieces from Tartu were:

1. A decent classical winter jacket from Levi's (€150 €79). I just badly needed a warm hooded jacket since after all winter decided to come and stay and luckily this one happened to be almost 50% cheaper during our useful winter sales.
2. A lavender sweater from Seppälä's kids' section (€14.95 €4.49). How awesome does it look smoothly layered over my thrifted lavender blouse? A perfect match, isn't it?
3. A very "me" pair of slippers (€7.99 €4.55) - furry and fuchsia plus oh so warm!
4. Super cheap Christmas balls from Tiimari (all together merely €3!!!) because isn't Christmas secretly approaching already? Alright alright, we really needed those balls since our current collection is too small but I love rich Christmas trees.

Now, when it comes to my thrifted treasures I already mentioned the lavender BC blouse seen above. The bluish-purplish velvet jacket is brand-new, derives from Silbor and its price tag said €99, believe it or not. And finally, intense drumroll...
a truly beautiful leopard print skirt from Moschino! Because of that amazing skirt I'm waiting for spring the most. It just makes me restless to see the skirt numbly having a tedious time in my wardrobe. It's way too sheer for winter though, sad but true.

Anyway, this sandy piece with a flower embroidery in front is actually a Mono dress and together with the particularly summery Tivale top they will definitely accompany me in May when it's our breezy vacation time. And last but not least I picked three fine scarves and a white waist-belt that goes perfectly with my previously mentioned sandy dress. By the way, I already photographed another thrifted treasures' haul which will be brought to you soon so I hope you enjoy them.

And since several of you have been sweetly curious about my nails I'm also sharing my current manicure from January 17. And well, once again I'm daydreaming about spring, vividly blooming flowers, the smell of freshly cut grass, strong blue skies, light, airy clothes... yes, I admit it, winter is just not my cup of tea but I'm sure you already noticed that little detail. Stay warm, my sweeties, enjoy the photos and always let me know what you think. See you!

  4. Oh how lovely, and what a full post to share. I like your spring manicure, and the red skirt and lavender jumper is so nice. The leopard Moschino skirt is an excellent buy. I usually buy most of my Christmas ornaments for next year after Christmas so I can understand why you snatched those up, haha. Enjoy your weekend. xx/Madison

  6. I can't wait for spring either!! I was getting used to these warm temperatures (we haven't had a proper winter here in Slovenia yet) but today the winds came and it's gotten cold and they say it's about to snow!! And I'm thinking: NOW?!?!:D But to answer your question, my favorite color combo is blue, black and white or just blue with anything really, I'm a blue fanatic. But black, red and white is my boyfriend's favorite color combo, I kid you not.:)

So I have to say two things in response to your comment.:) I'm a translator, so I can work from home and I'm very happy (and lucky) for that. And YES, doggies are BRILLIANT creatures. I don't know what I'd do without mine, he really is/has my heart. I know I sound like a freak, but I think you can understand...

  12. Wow, the pictures are great! I am in love with the way you presented the pieces, hanging, it's so inspiring, and the nice background! If I had a tree around I would copy the idea, honestly, so creative! I loved the first pictures with the red, white and black outfit - I loved the tights and the boots, but everything looks great! Then you asked what our (the readers!) favorite color combination is, and I tell you, no joke - exactly the one you showed! Red is my favorite color, then second is black! But alas, I like pink and burgundy very much, then green, electric blue... and finally I like mustard as well! So you see, very broad! But then, f I have to choose, red and black for sure! I loved your manicure! If I could do that great way!!! I never tried patterns, designs on the nails! So good purchase! The jacket is really cool and the Moschino skirt??? Full of hearts, in a leopard-like look, so sweet! You have such a great eye and taste to find so cool things! denisesplanet com

  20. I love your colorful nails! I've been painting mine very blah colors, but you've inspired me to step up my game! Those slippers you found are so cute, and look so comfy and warm too. Post christmas sales are always the best for finding ornaments and the such. My friend and I went to Target after christmas and bought a bunch of ornaments, gift bags, chocolates, and tape for less than $10! Deals are just the best :) Oh last but not least, your outfit! That skirt is just stunning, the draping is so beautiful on it. I think red + white + black is one of my all time favorite color combos too ;)

  22. Oh Maiken, your thrifted treasures never cease to amaze me - that Moschino skirt is absolutely divine and I know you'll show us what it looks like on you as soon as spring comes. Personally, I can't wait! In the meantime, though, I think you're very brave to go out in the Estonian winter to show us your outfits - the wind looks so cold in your photos! But the colour combination of your outfit is just perfect. Of course, my favourite colour combination is very predictable... and probably not very exciting... but still, I can't help it, I'll always be a black and white girl at heart :)

  23. So many lovely pieces again! You truly make the best hauls my friend ^^( Must go thrifting with you some day, heh;) And I share your sudden love for gold, I used to avoid it in every way I could but now can't seem to desire anything more than golden jewelry, nail polish, gold sequined clothes .. :D I guess it's much more delicate or suitable tone with my skin and eye colour etc., and warmer earth tones overall. I do love some neon shades, cold blues or silver every now and then too, but it's been "eye opening" to widen my range :)

  28. Time really does fly, doesn't it? I absolutely love this glam and polished look. I love the detail of the fur jacket and thoes striped tights. The red is the perfect pop of color and it's so cute that it matches your braid's hair tie! And you always have the chicest ankle boots! I love gold jewelry as well.

Oh, that lavender sweater looks so soft! I'd better start taking peeks in the kid's section, because what a steal! And your colorful nails are exquisite. I'm also wistful for spring, and that orchid photo made me smile. Nothing like flowers to brighten up crazy winter weather!
